This boulder opal is beautifully vibrant even in the shade. Showing epic stripes of green and blue, with a patch of ironstone host rock making it even more unique. It measures in at 8 x 7mm, and originates from Winton, Queensland, Australia.
I would personally set this on a smooth 1.3mm band with the brown host rock set at the top, with a 9ct gold granulation on this side too. I think this whole opal would also look amazing in gold, but as always the choice is yours!

All opal photographs are shot using a macro lens under natural lighting. The colours are never edited. I will guarantee you will find the opals even more beautiful in person - even though they do look pretty epic in photos.
